Direct Debit Enrollment

Direct Debit

Convenient, Simple And Free To Massena Electric Customers

Direct Debit is a convenient service that allows you to have your payments automatically deducted from your bank account with no cost to you.

With Direct Debit, say goodbye to the hassle of driving to our office on chilly winter days or interrupting your summer activities to pay your bill. Your payments will be effortlessly and securely processed each month, eliminating the need to write checks or worry about missed payments.

Direct Debit is available to all Massena Electric customers with active accounts, making it a convenient and reliable payment solution for everyone.

After enrolling in Direct Debit, you will still receive a detailed bill each month. This gives you ample time to review your chargers and reach out to us with any questions or concerns before your account is debited. Once you've enrolled, your bill will clearly state "DO NOT PAY-DIRECT DEBIT ON MM/DD/YYYY," and the indicated amount will be automatically deducted on the specified date.

FAQs

Got a question? We’re here to help.

  • How Do I Get Started?

Please complete the enrollment form above, and return it to Massena Electric along with a BLANK, VOIDED CHECK.  The completed form and blank, voided check can be returned to our office at 71 E. Hatfield St., or left in one of our night drop boxes.

  • How Do I Know When My Account Will Be Debited?

After you have signed up for the Direct Debit program, the bottom of your monthly bill will say “DO NOT PAY-DIRECT DEBIT ON MM/DD/YYYY”.  Do not send a payment for your account once you see this on your bill.

  • What If I Change My Bank Or Bank Account?

If you decided to change banks, or would like a different bank account debited, you will need to fill out another enrollment form and provide a new BLANK, VOIDED CHECK.

  • What Happens If I Have Insuffiencent Funds?

If there are insufficient funds in your account at the time of withdrawal, you will be notified immediately.  A $15.00 insufficient funds charge (NSF) will be incurred.  The NSF charge, along with the amount that was scheduled to be withdrawn from your account will need to be paid immediately.  If this happens more than two times during a 12-month period, Massena Electric will remove you as a Direct Debit customer.
