Massena Electric will be removing diseased Ash trees in the near future. Any Ash tree that is within close proximity to a power line will be removed to prevent future outages.

In North America one of the most destructive invasive species is the Emerald Ash Borer. It is a small insect that digs holes and burrows into Ash trees leaving little grooves left in its trail. As the insects are eating more of the trees, the trees are dying and becoming potential hazards to homes, power lines, and members of the community.

Trees affected by the Emerald Ash Borer will have :

• D-shaped holes in the bark
• worm like paths in the wood appear underneath the bark
• reduced foliage or abnormal discoloration of leaves
